Buenos Aires, December 7 (NA) – The sale of used cars suffered a sharp drop in November, but the sector is still optimistic and expects to reach a record sales volume this year. According to data accessed by the Argentine News Agency (Agencia Noticias Argentinas), 132,089 used cars were sold in November, 12.62% less than in the same month of 2024 (151,174 units). Compared to October (166,285 units), the drop was even greater, at 20.56%. In the January-November 2025 period, 1,735,030 units were sold, representing an increase of 9.48% compared to the same period in 2024 (1,584,756 vehicles). November once again showed that the Volkswagen Gol continues to lead consumer preference when buying a used car. The ranking of provinces that lead cumulative growth during the January-November period are: Formosa (30.42%), Santiago del Estero (26.11%), Neuquén (26.05%), Catamarca (19.48%), Jujuy (19.11%), and La Rioja (18.24%). The president of the CCA (Automobile Trade Chamber), Alberto Príncipe, stated: "We expect a December where the level of inquiries and sales that had been maintained will recover, even with record months." He highlighted that "we are in a good moment where the public can take advantage of opportunities in buying used cars with very reasonable prices." Additionally, "the interior continues to move forward steadily despite also suffering a drop in sales." "We expected a rebound in sales during the month, after the elections, but this did not happen," he explained. And he pointed out that "it was an atypical month for all markets related to the automotive sector".
